A canal in Venice, a gondola gliding between the façades
L’Inside · Issue 1 · October 2026

Welcome behind the scenes at La Conciergerie I Carré.

Twice a month, L’Inside takes you where our customers don’t always see us: on the road, in the details that make the difference, in the places we pass through and with the people who make it all possible.

This first issue is a launch issue. It brings together the highlights of recent weeks, from Venice to Voiron, from the slopes of Condrieu to the Château de Pizay. You will discover the six sections you will find in every issue.

On the road

Venice–Lyon: eight hours on the road, prepared the day before

Some missions are decided before the engine even starts. Bringing a client back from Venice to Lyon means around eight hours of driving in one go, with mountains to cross, borders, and the traffic of large Italian cities. A mission like that is not improvised.

So our chauffeur left the day before. On site, our client’s concierge service had booked him a hotel room: a full night’s sleep before taking the wheel, rather than a back-to-back round trip. The next day, two breaks punctuated the journey, and our client was dropped off in Lyon, rested and on time.

The chauffeur’s rest is not a detail. It is the first condition for safety on a long journey.

Meanwhile, our regulars

A big mission must never come at the expense of the others. During these busy weeks, each of our regular customers was served as planned. As every two weeks, we drove a young pupil home from boarding school. These regular journeys are at the heart of our work: trust is built over time, journey after journey.

Lyon & Beyond

Two getaways just outside Lyon

Lyon & Beyond is our “day trip” section: what lies an hour’s drive from Lyon, and what our customers discover with us.

#01 · Voiron, the Chartreuse

It all starts with a phone call. A client wants to treat her parents, visiting from the United States, to a trip to Voiron to discover Chartreuse. We organise the day: pick-up in Lyon, the drive to Voiron, then a chauffeur at their disposal until the return.

Once there, our clients invite us to share the visit with them. Invitation accepted! We discover the fascinating history of Chartreuse, its secret recipe and its famous 130 plants, before moving on to the tasting. A few discoveries, a stop at the shop… and back to Lyon.

#02 · Condrieu and Ampuis, the wines of the Rhône Valley

An American couple, visiting France, lands at Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport. Before continuing their trip, they wanted to taste the great wines of the Rhône Valley. Our chauffeur was at their disposal for a day in the cellars of Condrieu and Ampuis, home of Condrieu and Côte-Rôtie: terraced slopes, tastings and a stunning view over the Rhône. Then off to Geneva, where we dropped them for the rest of their journey.

The chauffeur’s rituals · #2

The personalised welcome

At a time when a simple “I’m outside” message could be enough, we made a different choice. At every arrival at a station or airport, we always prepare a personalised welcome in our client’s name.

It is not just for VIPs.
It is not just for key accounts.
It is how we welcome every one of our clients.
At Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport, the client’s name clearly displayed.
At Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport, the client’s name clearly displayed.

Why? Because after several hours on a train or plane, sometimes in an unfamiliar city, it is reassuring to see your name straight away and know that someone is waiting for you. This small touch saves you looking for your driver, makes the meeting easier and, above all, turns a simple pick-up into a real welcome.

Over time, it has become a ritual. A name. A chauffeur who is there. A client who is expected.

Where we drop off our clients

Our chauffeurs spend their days heading to beautiful places. This section pays tribute to them.

The Château de Pizay

In the heart of the Beaujolais vineyards, at the gates of Belleville-en-Beaujolais, the Château de Pizay welcomes its guests at the end of a drive of clipped trees. This is where VSS-Cab, our local service for Villefranche-sur-Saône and the Beaujolais, drove its clients. The Beaujolais, but also Lyon, train stations, airports and all your destinations: one team, several services, one goal.

L’Auberge du Pont de Collonges

Another memorable stop: a mission shared with fellow chauffeurs ended at L’Auberge du Pont de Collonges, Paul Bocuse’s restaurant on the banks of the Saône. For a Lyon chauffeur, an address that always has a small taste of consecration.

Behind the scenes

Three positions, one standard

As it grows, a transport company has to learn to organise itself differently. This autumn, we structured La Conciergerie I Carré around three key positions.

Dona leads general management and strategy: development, partnerships, services and finance. Petrelli, head of operations, makes sure every ride runs smoothly, from drivers to vehicles and the quality of service. Fourier, customer manager, is your contact from the quote request to the invoice: bookings, changes, follow-up.

Each position has its own written procedures, gathered in our operations manual. Our rule is simple:

Processes belong to positions, never to people.

In practice, if a team member is absent, the mission continues without you noticing the difference. For you, this means an identified contact for every question, faster answers and a service that never depends on a single person.

The team

Taking time, between two missions

Being serious doesn’t stop us living. This job is also made of encounters, fellow chauffeurs met during a pick-up and addresses we love to return to.

There are these two colleagues who cross paths between two missions: same job, same standards… and of course, the same dress code. There is this stop at Café Latino, run by a former colleague: a soda, some news, some memories. And there is this moment shared at the Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse with fellow chauffeurs who had invited us on a joint mission.

These are the moments that give meaning to long days, and that make us a team.

L’Inside’s tip

Write down what you do.

For a long time, many things relied on everyone’s memory. It worked… until the day someone was absent. We learned that know-how that is not written down belongs to one person only.

Today, our processes are written, shared and improved together. Whether you run a team or your own daily life, put down in writing what matters: it is the best way never to rely on chance.

See you in two weeks for L’Inside #2.
